Archiving of Asia in Asia
- Collection, Preservation and Digitization of Rare Documents from the Colonial Period in Kolkata
This workshop invites Prof. Ferdinando Sardella from Stockholm University to hear about an archiving project he is undertaking in Kolkata. He is working with a team in Kolkata to develop an open access archives of rare documents dealing with religion in India, mainly from the colonial period. Through the lecture by Prof. Sardella and the discussion with the commentators, we would like to think about the present and the future of archiving as well as study of and in Asia.
