太田特任助教が2025年12月6日に早稲田大学で開催された国際マムルークセミナー ”Knowledge, Authority and Practice in the Mamluk World: Reassessing Intellectual Life in Syria and Egypt”（「マムルーク朝世界の知識、権威、実践：シリアとエジプトの知的生活の再評価」, https://www.waseda.jp/flas/rilas/news/2025/11/06/15586/）において研究報告を行ないました。

　本セミナーは、中世イスラーム世界の中心国家であったマムルーク朝において、知識がいかに生産され、正統化され、実践へと移されていったのかという諸様態を検討することを目的として開催されました。マムルーク期を、政治・社会・学問の変化に応答しながら知が積極的に再形成された「イスラーム知識史の重要な転換点」として捉え直すことを目指した意欲的な試みです。

　各パネルでは、宗教的権威の継承、思想に基づく社会的実践、自伝や文書史料など、マムルーク期の知的世界を読み解くための幅広いテーマが取り上げられました。太田特任助教は、15世紀の人名録デジタルテキストにみられる知識伝承に関わる語彙に着目し、頻出語・共起語分析を精読と組み合わせながら、当時慣行化していた名目的な師弟関係が果たした社会的意義と、それを叙述した伝記集編纂者の意図について考察しました。

　国内外の研究者が最新の成果を披露した本セミナーは、歴史学・ハディース学・文献学・デジタル・ヒューマニティーズなど、多様な視点が交差する学際的な議論の場となりました。知識の生産過程、学術的権威の構築、テキストのマテリアリティ、地域間交流など、マムルーク期知識史の理解に不可欠な論点を通じて、今後の研究に向けた新たな視座が提示されました。
